AfriValue Terms of Use

Effective Date: April 1, 2026

Welcome to AfriValue (“AfriValue International Ltd,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). AfriValue is an online freelance marketplace platform that connects providers of service (Service providers) with clients (“Clients”). By accessing or using AfriValue, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”).

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the platform.

1. Eligibility & Account Registration

1.1 You must be at least 18 years old or meet the legal age requirement in your country to use AfriValue.

1.2 You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when creating an account and to keep your information current.

1.3 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities conducted under your account.

1.4 AfriValue reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or engage in prohibited conduct.

2. Platform Role & Marketplace Disclaimer

2.1 AfriValue is a neutral marketplace platform and is not a party to contracts between Clients and Service Providers.

2.2 Afrivalue does not guarantee the quality, legality, or outcome of services provided by Service Providers.

2.3 All agreements, deliverables, timelines, and expectations are solely between Clients and Service Providers, subject to these Terms and AfriValue’s policies.

3. Account Status, Deactivation & Termination

3.1 Users may voluntarily deactivate their accounts. Deactivated accounts may be restored within the applicable grace period, subject to verification.

3.2 Subject to applicable laws and maintaining the platform’s obligations, permanent account deletion may be requested after all active orders, disputes, and financial obligations are resolved.

3.3 AfriValue may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, repeated disputes, fraudulent activity, abuse, or attempts to circumvent platform systems.

3.4 During suspension or deactivation, AfriValue may hold escrowed funds, restrict withdrawals, or pause orders as required for compliance and dispute resolution.

4. Services, Orders & Payments

4.1 All service engagements, orders, and payments must be conducted through AfriValue’s platform.

4.2 Off-platform transactions, payment redirection, or attempts to bypass AfriValue’s payment system are strictly prohibited.

4.3 Payments are processed through AfriValue’s secure payment partners and may be held in escrow until applicable release conditions are met.

4.4 Clients authorize AfriValue to:

  • Hold funds in escrow

  • Release funds upon delivery acceptance, milestone approval, or auto-release conditions

  • Adjust or split payments where required by dispute outcomes

5. Escrow & Milestone Payments

5.1 AfriValue uses an escrow system to protect both Clients and Service Providers.

5.2 For milestone-based projects, funds are released per approved milestones.

5.3 If no dispute is raised within the specified review period, funds may be automatically released.

5.4 AfriValue reserves the right to place holds on escrowed funds during disputes, investigations, or suspected violations.

6. Refund Policy (Summary)

6.1 Refunds are subject to AfriValue’s refund rules, order status, delivery stage, and dispute outcomes.

6.2 Refunds may be full or partial depending on work completed, milestones approved, and evidence provided.

6.3 Refunds are processed to the original payment method or credited to the user’s AfriValue wallet where applicable.

7. Dispute Resolution Policy (Summary)

7.1 Users are encouraged to resolve issues directly through AfriValue’s messaging system before opening a dispute.

7.2 If unresolved, a dispute may be filed through the platform with supporting evidence after three unsuccessful attempts at resolving the dispute amicably.

7.3 AfriValue may mediate disputes and issue binding decisions, including refunds, partial releases, order completion, or splits.

7.4 Failure to respond within dispute timelines may result in an automatic decision.

8. Messaging, Communication & Monitoring

8.1 AfriValue provides internal messaging platform for communication between users.

8.2 Users consent to automated systems that:

  • Detect contact information

  • Monitor communications for policy enforcement

  • Flag suspected violations for review

8.3 Sharing personal contact details before, during or after order confirmation or attempting to move transactions off-platform may result in warnings, restrictions, or account suspension.

9. Reviews & Ratings

9.1 Users may leave reviews based on genuine service experiences.

9.2 False, misleading, abusive, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited.

9.3 AfriValue reserves the right to moderate, remove, or reject reviews that violate platform guidelines.

10. Affiliate Program (Summary)

10.1 AfriValue offers an affiliate program that allows users to earn commissions by referring new users or transactions.

10.2 Affiliate commissions may be subject to approval, minimum payout thresholds, and holdback periods to account for refunds or disputes.

10.3 AfriValue reserves the right to withhold or reverse commissions in cases of fraud, abuse, or policy violations.

11. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not:

  • Engage in fraud, impersonation, or deceptive practices

  • Circumvent payment, escrow, or fee systems

  • Harass, abuse, or discriminate against others

  • Post false reviews or misleading content

  • Use Afrivalue for illegal or unauthorized purposes

Violations may result in suspension, termination, loss of funds, or legal action.

12. Privacy & Data Protection

12.1 AfriValue collects and processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

12.2 Users consent to the use of anonymized data for analytics, security, and platform improvement.

12.3 AfriValue does not sell personal user data to third parties.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 AfriValue is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.

13.2 AfriValue’s total liability, where permitted by law, is limited to the fees paid to AfriValue for the transaction in dispute.

13.3 AfriValue users are responsible for meeting their tax obligations in their respective country of residence or jurisdiction.

13.3 AfriValue does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free platform operation.

13.4 AfriValue does not guarantee quality of service by the service providers listed on its platform.

14. Changes to These Terms

14.1 AfriValue may update these Terms from time to time.

14.2 Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Legal disputes shall be handled by Arbitration in accordance with the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
